Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Silverwings Benefits Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website, services, and Messenger chatbot.

1. Who We Are

We are a specialist client support limited company. We help elderly people in their application for Attendance Allowance, a benefit from the government, helping them live independently for longer and get the much needed support they deserve.

Our company number is 15216178, and our registered office is located at Cbx, Cobalt Park Way, Wallsend, England, NE28 9NZ. To contact us for support please email support@silverwingsbenefits.com.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect the following personal data from and about you:

  • Identity Data: Name, contact details, date of birth and address.
  • Health Data: Information relevant to Attendance Allowance or Pension Age Disability Payment applications.
  • Service Data: Eligibility responses, application forms, and progress updates.
  • Technical Data: IP address, device type, browser, cookies.
  • Messenger/Facebook Data: Any information you provide via our chatbot.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your personal data is collected and processed for the following purposes:

  • To provide and manage our benefit application service.
  • To communicate with you about your enquiry or application.
  • To improve our services.
  • To meet legal and regulatory requirements.

We never sell your data to third parties.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We rely on:

  • Contract – we process your information to provide the services you request from us, such as preparing and managing your benefit application.
  • Legal obligation – in some cases we must process or share your information to comply with UK law and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) rules.
  • Legitimate interests – we may process your personal information to improve our services, respond to enquiries, and ensure we deliver the support you expect from us.
  • Consent – if you choose to receive marketing communications from us, we will rely on your consent. You can withdraw this at any time.

5. Data Sharing

We may share information with:

  • The Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) or Social Security Scotland.
  • Technology partners (Zoho, Twilio, Meta/Facebook) for service delivery.
  • Regulators or authorities where legally required.

6. Data Retention

We will retain information in relation to your enquiry for the following periods:

  • Application data is stored for 6 years (legal record-keeping).
  • Messenger chat data is kept while your conversation is active or until you ask us to delete it.

7. Your Rights

Under the terms of data protection legislation, you have the following rights:

  • Request a copy of your data.
  • Ask us to correct, delete, or restrict your data.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing.
  • Object to our use of your data.

Email support@silverwingsbenefits.com to exercise your rights.

7a. Our PIP Research Survey

We currently run a short, anonymous survey – “Understanding Barriers to Claiming PIP” – to understand why people who may be eligible for Personal Independence Payment do not apply. This is genuine market research, not an eligibility checker and not an application: it does not tell you whether you qualify, and it is not a step towards any Silverwings service.

  • What we collect: your answers to the survey questions and your postcode district only (e.g. “SW1A”, never your full postcode or address). We do not ask for your name, date of birth, National Insurance number, or a description of your health condition – only broad category checkboxes.
  • Legal basis: legitimate interests – understanding demand and barriers in the market we operate in. You are always free to close the survey without submitting.
  • Retention: because this dataset has no name, email, phone number or address, we retain it indefinitely for research and reporting purposes, in line with our legitimate interest in tracking trends over time.

At the very end of the survey, and completely separately from the research questions, we ask if you would like us to contact you if we launch a paid PIP application-support service in future. This is optional and off by default.

  • What we collect if you say yes: your first name, phone number and, if you provide it, your email address – plus whether you’d also like general Silverwings news and benefit-change updates (a separate tick-box).
  • Legal basis: consent. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing support@silverwingsbenefits.com.
  • Retention: we keep these contact details for up to 24 months from when you submit them. If we haven’t launched the service and contacted you within that time, your details are automatically and permanently deleted. This list is kept entirely separate from our client and enquiry records, and is never used to contact you about anything other than what you asked to hear about.

8. Security

We use encryption, secure servers, and access controls to protect your data.

9. Cookies

Our website uses cookies for analytics and functionality. You can manage your cookie preferences using the banner at the bottom of the page, or disable cookies in your browser.

10. Data Deletion

If you would like your personal data removed from Silverwings Benefits Ltd systems:

  1. Email us at support@silverwingsbenefits.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”.
  2. Please provide your full name and any email or phone number you used with us so we can identify your records.
  3. We will confirm receipt and delete your data within 30 days, unless we are legally required to keep it (e.g. financial records).
