Why We Began

Silverwings Benefits was founded by Craig Lowther after his own father was rejected on his first Attendance Allowance application — despite genuinely needing the support. Once Craig helped him reapply properly, the claim succeeded. That single experience revealed something much bigger: nearly half of all Attendance Allowance applications submitted without help are rejected, according to published DWP figures — not because people aren’t entitled, but because a 30-page form asks exactly the wrong questions in exactly the wrong way for most people to answer confidently.

Since launching in October 2023, we’ve helped over 1,000 families apply for the support they’re entitled to, putting more than £5 million back into their pockets — with a 96% success rate, well above the national self-application rejection rate of around 48%.

Local Jobs, Skilled Work

We’re based in Newcastle and proud of it. Every application we handle is worked on by a real person in our North East offices — not an offshore call centre, not an algorithm alone. We’ve created 35 full-time roles for skilled advisers, case handlers and support staff, turning a genuine social need into sustainable, local employment.

Defending Our Numbers

We know a 15% + VAT fee can sound like a lot until you see it against the alternative. Applying alone is free — but it fails roughly half the time, and every failed application means months of appeals, mandatory reconsiderations, and, often, giving up altogether. Our fee only applies to a successful award, is capped to your first year’s benefit, and comes with an interest-free payment plan. No win, no fee, always.

We also don’t stop at Attendance Allowance. Our technology automatically checks every client’s eligibility for Pension Credit and Council Tax Reduction — extra income many people never knew they could claim — at no additional cost.
