What is the Disability Tax Credit?
- A non-refundable federal tax credit for people with a severe and prolonged physical or mental impairment.
- Requires a qualified medical practitioner to complete and certify Form T2201.
- Worth roughly C$9,428 as a federal base amount in 2024, plus a provincial or territorial amount that varies by where you live.
- Can sometimes be claimed retroactively for up to 10 previous tax years.
